1) The IT Crowd is AMAZING. why did it take me this long to see it?! i love Moss. (also, whoever does the set design is awesome. it's like a mix of adult swim, robot love, thinkgeek and big brain comics- kozyndan, qee, drinky crow, samurai jack, invader, plus the million of other nerdy references. i wish that was my office).
2) i recently upgraded my safari to 4.0.2. it's pretty rad. i really like the history function of scrolling through past pages like itunes album art. (this might've been part of the previous version but i missed an upgrade in there).
3) this is my last day of vacation. *sigh*
4) oi, jerry and brandy got me hooked on big bang mini for the ds.
5) i'm sad i'm missing comic con.

trying to pace out my schedule and time it with the performances i want to see. excited to see the aerialists in the boiler room. that sounds pretty rad.
me thinks there will be much coffee consumed over the next 24 hours.

i think studios should put a lot more thought into their trailers. a trailer can often make or break a film's opening. example, Jennifer's Body looked like absolute crap when i saw the trailer before Harry Potter. but i just watched a different one that actually makes it look really entertaining.
anyway, my whole point is that this fan remake of the trailer for 2012 is genius.

i sometimes pause and take a gander at what is considered "trendy" or "popular" in the modern fine art world and it always results in me asking myself the fairly rhetorical question of "maybe i'm not esoteric enough in my work? maybe i should be more avant garde?" these artists, whose work bleeds over to the side of slightly manic, slightly insane, always confusing....are they intentionally trying to go above 99% of the population's head and basic understanding of art? are they trying to isolate the common viewer and turn art into something so disjointed and unusual that we the viewer have somehow missed the point? is it a game of who is smarter than whom?
then i remember the popularity of "artists" like ann geddes.
i'm not really sure what my ultimate point was with this bit....but i believe it has been made.

i've been playing zelda: phantom hourglass for the ds....and i got to this point where you have to go through this ungodly long temple which the game makes you do two times prior with every enemy and blockade reset. ugh.
well, i've redone this third attempt like 4 times now for various stupid reasons....and i finally got to the end and the last step is to "imprint" a symbol onto my map....i touch the stylus to the screen, i pushed every button, i blew into the mic....nothing. so i gave up after a while and turned it off knowing i'd have to redo the whole stupid temple again....only to find out the way to imprint the image was to simply CLOSE THE FUCKING DS LID!!!!!

oi i'm tireds. art a whirl was fun but exhausting.
i "injured" my foot somehow a couple of weeks ago (i have no idea. foot was fine....got on a plane, then got off a plane and all of sudden it hurt to step on it?).
it was just an annoying pain whenever i walked....but after this weekend i really fucked it up. ugh. 8 hours of standing all day friday + walking around art a whirl that evening, plus another 4 hours of walking on saturday, plus walking around ikea on sunday....i definitely irritated whatever is going on.
my mom thinks it's planter fasciitis. i'm going to buy some heel inserts today and try some various leg stretches.
plus i didn't get to the full extent of spring cleaning i had hoped to achieve. ah well. i saw lots of arts.

i wonder if a helper monkey qualifies as an acceptable pet to have in an apartment?
it would be fun if not purely for the fact it's a monkey, but really, it would be nice if it earned its keep a bit. like, doing the dishes, or cleaning the toilet. maybe i could teach him to do my laundry.
and i could dress him in smart little suits.
just a thought.

i miss sunny sunday brunches followed by trips to big brain comics.
i miss trips to the tea garden sipping on strawberry tea lattes with lychee jelly on a hot summer day.
